Greece and the Netherlands won in the premiere at the 12th World Women’s Junior Water Polo Championships which began today (3.9) in Volos.

The first, had an easy victory 12-6 against Australia with Elena XENAKI hit the target 4 times.

In the same Group (B) China succeeded an easy victory over South Africa with 17-5.

The Dutch victory (7-5) over Russia in the Group A was also significant as it was 6-3 and 7-4 in its progression.

In the same Group (A) Hungary with two goals in the final minutes (1.42” and 1.07”) and Szonja KUNA scoring a total of 6 goals, took a tough victory (12-11) from Japan in the previous (9-8) with Yumi ARIMA in the race), 7.03 ” before the end of the race, but despite the reduction of score (12-11) 54” before the end of the game, they did not do much more.

In Group C, Italy’s easy victory over Serbia with score 18-2, while Canada won 12-7 with 5 goals of Kyra CHRISTMAS over Slovakia.

For Group D, easy victories have been achieved by the USA and Spain over Croatia and New Zealand with 24-1 and 14-3 respectively.
